Prospective Volunteers:
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Muncie Public Library. Currently, we are not enrolling individuals for general volunteer opportunities. However, opportunities do exist for volunteers in the MPL Facilities Department, the Great Achievers Afterschool Program, and for group projects.

MPL Facilities Department welcomes volunteers to help with maintenance projects, weeding, pruning, and maintaining MPL facilities and the green spaces. If this interests you, please fill out the volunteer registration form here and a member of the Facilities Department will contact you.

The Great Achievers Afterschool Program (GA) at Maring-Hunt Library accepts volunteers who are interested in helping students in grades 1-5 with homework, recreation time, and reading and math skills. Many of the GA volunteers are recruited through the SVS program at Ball State University, but community members are also welcome to register for this opportunity.

Group Volunteer Opportunities can be scheduled for groups including student groups, scouting troops, fraternities or sororities, or other local organizations and businesses seeking a single day volunteer event. For these opportunities, please contact the MPL Community Engagement Specialist Dottie Kreps at  765-805-6362 or at dkreps@munpl.org.

Criminal background checks are required for volunteers for the MPL Facilities Department and the GA Afterschool Program.
