21st CCLC Great Achievers
21st Century Community Learning Center - Great Achievers is funded by a grant through the Indiana Department of Education. We provide homework help as well as math, reading, and science lessons and activities throughout the week, with the main objective being to increase the math and language arts skills of the children that attend the program. First through Fifth grade children are chosen from Teacher and School Personnel Recommendations. The program takes place Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and bus transportation home is provided to children living within South View district.
Great Achievers is committed to instilling a lifelong love of learning to at-risk grades 1-5 children enrolled at South View Elementary School in Muncie, Indiana.
Great Achievers envisions an afterschool program where the students in attendance are truly excited about learning. Students will utilize the resources of the Muncie Public Library to engage in self-driven projects that equip them with the critical thinking skills necessary to be successful in school. We also seek to involve families and caregivers in the learning process to ensure that children are competent in school and in adulthood.
