Gateway to Growing

The Gateway to Growing Community Garden Pavilion had its grand opening on Friday, April 28, 2017. BSU students worked hard all semester and were excited to partner with the library in enriching the community gardens.

Going Green on June 5

Due to our matching partnership with Muncie Sanitary District, MPL will be able to become even more eco-friendly and eliminate our reliance on single-use plastic bags at our library. We are transitioning to reusable bags, which we will give out to the public for free.

Did you know?  Muncie Public Library has been making conscious efforts to help keep our planet and our community clean and beautiful.  This includes our big initiative that started on World Environment Day 2017 when we partnered with Muncie Sanitary District to offer reusable tote bags free to the public and to ditch the single-use plastic bags.  Thanks to Muncie Sanitary District and to our wonderful community who have embraced this change, we will be keeping 23,400 plastic bags out of landfills and rivers each year!  Such a small change really can make a BIG difference.
